Aircraft Not Showing on Startup

I have reinstalled FS9 several times but keep having a problem once I upload my other aircraft and AI files.
The startup screen doesnt show any aircraft in the aircraft selection window and its freezes. This only happens once I upload all the AI  aircraft AFCADS and AI files.
The sim works fine before that with some heavy scenery loaded.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

Logically the problem lies with your addons. If possible add them individually (not all at once) & check them out in FS9 each time before adding any more. This makes it so much easier to track down the culprit. I realise this might not always be possible with packages like the PAI files. In this case add each package individually & try it before adding another in the same way. You could also try reducing your display settings in case the increased AI traffic is causing problems.

like Hagar stated the best way to add scenery or aircraft is one file at a time then check to make sure everything is ok before proceding with the next file.
I know it is a pain in the %#@ but it is the only way to weed out the little kinks in some scenery and aircraft files.
Also check to make sure none of your AI aircraft are flyable models as some of these can really hit frame rates hard. Which is why I only use PAI files because the aircraft are made for AI and not mean to be flown.

Thanks guys
That was my next option.
I was hoping it would be simpler.
At least I can weed out the old files .
I need to be brutal.
Most of my AI aircraft are PAI but I have loaded on a lot of military third party types
