Hi,
Is it possible to autoland an IFDG A320? I have Ken Mitchell's panel.
When i come into land, i leave 'approach hold' on until about 1 mile out + autothrottle on + set auto brake one/two. Then i disengage them and fly manually. Is it possible to do it all automatically?
Thanks,
Richard.

I have never been able to autoland the IFDG A320, but that doesnt mean it cant be done. I have autolanded the Dreamfleet Bonanza A36 though ;D

FS9 won't 'autoland' as such, but it's possible to get very close to it. Approach on ILS as normal, coontrolling the throttle manually. Control the speed so that the glideslope bug is almost one point above the centre line - the nose raises slightly. At 10 feet above the runway, drop the throttle to zero, and the plane should touch down main wheels first.
Almost autoland - with manual throttle assistance!

There are some panels out there that will autoland the plane for you. For the Airbus family the only freeware panel with full autoland CATIII I know is from Eric Marciano.
Tried it personally (I have it installed on my Airbus fleet) works fine, though it's quite a hassle to install and its autoland is... peculiar (the autopilots lands perfectly on its own, but doesn't flare) I still suggest it for every simulated freeware airbus.

WOW...I've never used an auto land. For the Airbus 380 I actually find this one of the nicest freewares I have tried. Land it all by hand. Just takes a little practice and IMHO is much more fun.

Let me get this straight. You fly on autopilot, letting a gps navigate from waypoint to waypoint, and now you want the aircraft to land on it's own???
Come on guys.... don't take all the fun out of flying

Far from me to land always in automatic, it would shear off the best part of the flight, but sometime there's a... satisfaction of sort to let the autopilot do it for you.

As long it doesn't happen more frequently than once in 30 landings, it's not a bad habit.

The landing is the most fun part of any flight IMHO, wether its your first time taking the A-380 up, or your millitionth hour in the Tomcat, takeoff and landing are the most enjoyable parts of the flight, the rest is just for sight seeing.(which is why I rarely to trans-atlantic/pacific flights)

No Martyn, the lives of hundreds of virtual passengers depend on it. Easy to get confused I know....
