Virtual cockpit with added aircraft?

Postby Robban_Sweden » Wed Oct 26, 2005 1:24 pm

How do I get the virtual cockpit to work when I fly a downloaded aircraft?

For example:
I downloaded a Boeing 737-200 and it uses the standard MFS 737-400 cockpit but when I switch to virtual mode, which is where I'd like to be, there's no panel there.

Hi Rob,

The Virtual Cockpit is built into the 3D model. It is "part" of the model.
If it is not there when you toggle through the views, it means that there is NO Virtual Cockpit included in that model.

Designers go through great lengths to build different types of models. Most models come without the "virtual cockpit" as it is a bit "easier" to design.
Most payware and more of the higher end freeware models, come with a virtual cockpit.

If you are looking for a virtual cockpit aircraft, be sure to read the description before download as it will always say "Includes VC"

OK! Then I understand.
I can imagine it's a LOT of work creating such models.

Thanks for a good and quick answere!

I've just downloaded the 737 Experience now, and some textures to it, although I can't get the new textures to work.
I've done just like the readme file says but it's just black when I pick those textures.  ???

A great graphic description and one I hadn't seen before...

Helps explain why some VC's are so good and some are rubbish.

Thanks!
Actually it is a shot that Savas posted a while back of the PMDG 737.

As most of you know, when toggling through views, if zoomed in a bit too much, it will "Travel through and around" an aircraft.
If it is modeled in 3-D, you will see what is posted above!  ;)
