Pondering.......

Postby cspyro21 » Fri Oct 28, 2005 4:05 am

Hey all,
I was wondering: I have a screenshot that I really like and want to turn it into a splashscreen. To do so, would I find th basics of a splashscreen (as in text: Microsoft FS2004 blahlahblah and the border), open up Photoshop CS and put it on a higher layer than the screenie?

If so, where can I find the basics of a splashscreen (border and text)?
Thanks     ??? ???

Hi Csp.....the actual Splash screen in FS9 is an 800x600 bmp file called dlgsplash.bmp and lives in the Uires folder which in turn is in the main FS9 folder.....If you rename that to dlgsplashdefault.bmp and then create another dlgsplash.bmp in photoshop or whatever and put that in there, it will become your splash screen.

As for templates..these are available for download from lots of places...there may even be some here on Simv.........just search around for ..FS9 Splash template or words to that effect........best of luck...commoner ;)

Or you can make your own template. ;).
I didn't like the default splashscreen layout so I made my own in photoshop.
Look at the splashscreens I uploaded to the server if you want an example. (kibusplash1, 2 & 3 ;))
