Removing VC in FS2004

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can disable the VC in FS2004? I know I can set seeself=0 in the cfg file but this will also make the lights invisible. This is not what I want.
I know it is also possible to modify the .mdl of the aircraft changing the second occurence of string 0022003900 to 0022000000, it was suggested in this forum for FS2002 where it worked fine. I tried the same to FS2004 vut the specific string was not found. Do you know if there is a different string or a whole different way to do so?
