CD download not in aircraft list-again.

On 13th Oct.  I asked if anyone could help me with a problem I have whereby although I have downloaded a Chinook Freeware helicopter from the PcPilot magazine  and it is listed in my IE it does not appear in my FS 2004 aircraft list, neither is it in the Boeing section. Both Fly2e and Hagar on this Forum were kindly helping me along when I had to go away on business and thus lost the thread.
Chinook in aircraft folder-
Model, texture etc.  folders, plus  CH47 Check Notepad  file and CH47 air.cfg. file

I cannot see anything missing.  Is any file missing ?
In the Model folder  the only file I have is  CH47 mdl.
This helicopter was not an Auto Install. I have downloaded a Supermarine Spitfire from the same source and is was Auto Install.
Any hints or tips gratefully received

Heya Timothy,

In Windows Explorer, check and make sure that the Chinook has the following:

Model Folder
Texture Folder
Sound Folder
Panel Folder

Aircraft.cfg file
CH47.air file

In your post you didn't list the Aircraft.cfg file.

You mention that the only file in the 'model' folder is CH47.mdl - there should also be a model.cfg file, which should say something like:

[models]
normal=CH47

You can create the cfg file in Notepad. The sim won't know which model file to use (and therefore won't list the Chinook) if this file is missing.

Good luck.

;)

OK, fine, thanks for that.  I'm sure I will be able to sort it out----eventually .
Your help greatly appreciated.
