FS crashing

Postby ARFFguy20 » Fri Sep 30, 2005 8:29 pm

has anyone heard of FS crashing and sending a windows error report when you go to the kneeboard and start to scroll down?  Mine has just started doing that.  Any aircraft.  even default and I have the 9.1 update and everything.  Just curious if there is any fix for this out there. thanks.

Someone else mentioned this fix, but alt-ctrl-del when you run FS9, goto Processes and end a process called "viewmgr."

I always used to have this problem before my hard drive crashed.

thanks for the tip, I'll look into it.  If hatter reads this again thought, about that comment on your hard drive crashing.  was that a "Symptom" of it crashing or it just happened to do that, then your HD crashed and now it doesn't do that any more cause you have a new HD?  Just wanted to make sure mine wasn't going out!

ARFFguy20:

No, this kneeboard problem isn't a symptom, AFAIK. In fact, FS wasn't even installed in the HDD that crashed. Sorry for making it sound like there was a connection.

It was quite surprising, actually. It was a 3 week old Samsung 80GB SATA drive, worked flawless up to that day, and then when I turned it on that morning, I heard tick of death. I got a full money refund, and rightfully so for a hard drive that couldn't last a month.

But you should back up your files time to time.

I don't know about your problem but i have had a similar problem where whenever i went into select a flight and clicked on one, it crashed with the same message. I tried it a couple weeks later and it was working.wierd.
