Air-To-Air Refuelling

Postby JetPilot » Sat Oct 01, 2005 11:54 am

At the moment i fly alot with my brother over the network for our PCs. We thought that it be a good idea if we could do air to air refuelling. We both downloaded the KC135 with the boom but when we played, you could not see the boom.
Does anyone know whether or how you can do refuelling in FS?
Cheers

don't worry, the lot of us could have fun with some mid air refueling. i'm actaully suprised someone didn't create code for it by now. but oh well.

but just seeing the beem is pretty fun (while your plane continues to run on empty ;D)

wouldn't programming one be simple? Would making the sim think the boom is a refueling point (like at airports) work? I can see a few obvious problems, like the fueling point doens't move... but could it be possible??

I don't think the fact that it the boom moves makes a difference at all. The refuel ground stations don't move so if you notice your plane takes a while to refuel. You can actually see the fuel pumping into your tank by the guage.

I think someone can hack something into the sim that would allow for a full refuel once you make the correct connection to the refuel boom in the air. Instead of it pumping fuel for a couple of seconds. Something can be hacked to make the sim think you are on the ground and just give you a full tank on the one connection. It will be like your at a ground station for a 1 second refuel.

Now how that will get done, you got me
