What does this mean?

I keep getting terrain.dll errors even after placing all new .dll files off the CD.  The latest error report said the associated file causing the problem is c423_appcompat.txt.  I did a search for it and nothing came up.  Anyone know what this is and where it is located?  This file has caused me an extensive amount of grief.  Todd

After searching for a bit, I found a similar file extension related to Adobe reader.  Are there any known issues between FS9 and Adobe, I dont know of any?  Todd

Sorry, it seems like I am diagnosing my own problem.  A search on MS says it is an application compatibility tool file.  It is used to diagnose problems when building a program.  Is there any way to fix this, or even find out where on the computer it is located?  I have had this file pop up in the error reports dozens of times.  Todd

Hi cavity. I've just searched my C: drive & I don't have that file. This might not mean much as I'm still on WinMe but it must prove that it's not an FS9 default file. In this case I think it must be one of your addons causing the problem. Hope this is some help anyway.

Cavity,

Did you run some diagnostics on your general machine?

Hagar and J, thanks for the replies.  Im not sure what is left to do.  I finally got rid of the pause to desktop, that was an HP printer driver that was trying to execute.  I then found I had a bad memory module that is now fixed.  This is the last problem that I continue to have, and yet it doesnt make any sense.  I have no add on scenery, so what would be causing terrain.dll errors?  I even switched all the numbers back to their original settings in the display.cfg.  On a positive note, the ATI 5.9 drivers seem to work very well, sim seems much smoother, not nearly as much stuttering.  I may hang it up till the next version, FS10 will give me something to anticipate over the long cold winter.  Todd

Cavity I have searched my hard drive and have found nothing at all with that name with or without the txt extension. I have a lot of addon scenery and air craft. I did not find any thing in my adobe folder with that name either so I have no idea where it might have came from..
Sorry I could not help you out . :-/
