Splash Screen Question in FS2004

Postby GA_Pilot » Wed Sep 14, 2005 5:31 pm

I am not sure if this is where it needs to be, if not the mods can move it  :o
But anyways when I start FS9 my opening Splash Screen used to open up right in the middle of my monitor, then today it started opening in the upper left hand corner of the monitor, but the game still runs fine and everything, but I was just wondering if anyone knows why it started doing this all of a sudden, and if there is a way to fix it where it is back in the middle ???

Thanx in advance  8)

Yep in the right place. 8)

Doesn't sound like a problem to me.... have you changed your screen resolution by any chance?

But if it hasn't affected anything else then I wouldn't worry. 8)

i've had the same thing happen. For me it was after something else opened at the same time as FS..... stupid MSN..... lol anyways.... as was stated by Saitek, it didn't change anything really so i wouldn't worry too much about it.

The easiest way to re-center the splash screen is to enter "window" mode (ALT+Enter) during any flight and click "restore down" so the window doesn't fill the whole screen.

Then, simply drag the window to center it on your monitor. Exit window mode and then, exit FS-9.

Your splash screen will now be displayed in the same position (centered) that you previously dragged the the window to. :)

Glad to help. :)

An alternate method to center the splash  screen is to edit your "FS9.CFG"

Under [main]
Delete the line "Location=x,x,x"

This is the current splash screen location. The next time you start FS-9, the line will be recreated with the splash screen centered.
