Does anyone have any tips on getting the Antonov An225 off the ground? Im nearly at 215 on every takeoff and its difficult to get airborne before the end of the runway. Im sure being the largest and heaviest plane has some factor in in this, but do you guys have any technical tips? I have no problem landing the plane at all, so i figure i must not be doing something right on takeoff.

Is your trim set correctly?

Try flaps at full, let the engines warm up before releasing the brakes and just pull back on the stick, its possible to get her up at around 175kias with a bit of practice.

Make sure the autopilot is off. Some planes start with it on for some reason.

I agree with ecko.  I'm sure the starting fuel is 100%, always difficult in anything bigger than a 707 to get off with full fuel.  Change it to 25% fuel, and see how easy it is.

I've used Ramos' technique at KSEA.
