Can anyone guide me to what parameters to change in the AIR or CFG file to increase the lift and thus the max weight of an aircraft? I wish to increase max weight to add more fuel to a plane for a RTW. Thanks in advanced!! Happy Flying!
EDIT: And some info on changing the engine to increase speed

So you're increasing tankage to carry more fuel, changing engine to increase power and speed and increasing lift....are you sure you have the right aircraft because you'll end up with something completely different by the end of all this. Except the cockpit and exterior model will look the same ;)

it's called doing something the difficult way, and learning something new in the process XD

There are several ways to increase lift.
Add more wing_area=
and wing_span=
Increase the oswald_efficiency_factor= (0-.99, max is 1.0)
This is the setting I would toy with first as it does not change the geometry, just the lift efficiency factor of the wing
you can also toy with:
Decrease the induced_drag_scalar=
but I would not change that one too much (.92-.95) and only if the above does not help
For jet engines, increase
static_thrust=
alternately, you can play with reducing the: inlet_area= which seems to increase the thrust, the effect in FS is like constricting the end of a garden hose nozzle when I have toyed with that setting

I can't help you with the editing part but can draw your attention to the fact that: " . . . it's called doing something the difficult way," is sometimes referred to as:"Trying to beat the odds."
It's usually the last (literally) decision a realworld pilot gets to make.

Thanx, i had worked out the lift after a while, but i'm having a bit of trouble with the nigine still... its a piston not a jet ^^;;

ahhhhh... sorry
Several things to toy with...
power_scalar =

I've started playing with them and other values such as cylinder_displacement and compression_ratio
