??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

What is the function of the Module (dll files) in FS9 game. When I reinstalled FS9 after experiencing startup problems, I noticed there were two folders (Backup and Module) in the game both containing the "dll) files. However, the files in the Module were dated 6/12/03 while the Back was dated 7/14/04. I also have a Module folder (I don't know where I got it from) in my Temporary Folder also containing "dll" files but dated 08/15/05.  Are they the same only different date of issue? When I loaded the latter version in my FS9, that's when I started to experience start-up problems. So I deleted that and am now using the 03 version. confused? I am too. Can anyone clear this up for me?

A dynamic link library (DLL) is a collection of small programs, any of which can be called when needed by a larger program that is running in the computer

The 'backup' folder is created by the 'FS9.1 update' installer, so that if you elect to uninstall the update the uninstaller can revert to the 'original' files. If you uninstalled FS9 with out first running  'FS9updateuninstall' as per instructions this folder would be left behind.

So what versions is used depends on whether you have the 'update' installed.

This'll explain why I don't have this backup folder, because my installation was 9.1 on first installation from the CDs.

Dave3cu:

I downloaded and installed the 9.1.  As the result, my FS9 Module folder was  automatically updated to the '05 version. I can play with the FS9 OK now.

Thanks.
