Problem with repaints

Postby Steeve » Thu Aug 18, 2005 7:17 pm

I have a separate folder that I download my addons to, and then I copy everything manually to the folder it needs to go to. Ive downloaded two new textures so far, and both Ive had no success with. Now Im trying to get a Fed Ex repaint to the SGA DC-10. I dont see why it doesnt work, I copy the texture folder into the main DC10 folder, and I added the new data to the aircraft.cfg file in the DC10 main folder as well. I open the game, and then the selection for the Fed Ex texture is there, but nothing shows up in the preview screen and it says "Aircraft Initialization Failure", when I try to click OK. But, I can still select the original texture that came with the plane. Can anyone help?

Hi Steeve,

When that happens to me, it's usually because I have the wrong name listed for the sim file.  In the aircraft.cfg file, be sure the "sim=abcde" line has the same name as the abcde.air file.

Also, the same is true for matching up the texture name with the "texture=" line.  Sometimes the model folder will have a specific name that must match the "model=" line.

Let us know if you get it working.

Matching the "Model=" line got it working. Thanks for the help.
