FS 2004 stability
Hi
I have a new AMD 64 3200 a Geforce 6600GT graphics card and 1 GB of RAM and Foxconn 755/A01 motherboard, but I can't get simulator 2004 to function smoothly without juddering when turns or a complete loop are made.
I have tried:
Every BIOS setting imaginable.
Re-installing
Deleting the fs9.cfg file so that a new one is created
Turning down all the settings to medium low, reducing cloud cover, killing other traffic movement, endless fiddling with the framerate slider etc etc.
Installing the latest Nvidia drivers
Overclocking the video card to run at 1 Ghz
Overclocking the AMD processor to 215 mhz
Endless fiddling with the Nvidea driver options.
Lowering the screen resolution.
And on and on and on for two weeks
I really can't crack this and wonder if anyone has any idea what might be wrong. I got it smoother on the lower game settings the other day, then when I tried it this morning it was back to it's usually juddery self.
I find it hard to come to terms with the fact that I have a new everything good graphics card and powerful AMD processor yet this game resuses to consistantly run smoothly. In all other respects the processor gives jaw dropping power compared to the old Athlon 2000+ that it replaced and I am really at my wits end to explain this problem with FS 2004.
Is there anybody out there that has a clue as to what might be wrong? I am beginning to suspect that AMD processors are not much good with simulator 2004, as I believe this game is processor intensive. Oh yes, the operating system is good old Windows XP professional.
