Hello fellow simmers once again...

sometimes, when i'm switching views i get the most bizarre, unexplicable sound bug...
what happens is that all sound coming from the speakers gets distorted, yes distorted, as if it was being reproduced by a guitar amplifier with a busted speaker

even if i hit Q to turn sound off, i can still hear a freckled sound as if that hiss that speakers make when the volume is up was being distorted as well

it happens ONLY in FS so i think it's not hardware related, but just in case, i'm using a SBLIVE! X-GAMER 4.1 sound card with a 4.1 surround system

sometimes hitting Q twice solves the problem, but it tends to happen again, minimizing the game doesn't help either
sometimes not even closing FS and opening again does the trick so i have to restart my computer

what should i do???????

Any brand new sounds you just got?  If not, then that actually does sound like it's hardware related-I'd try installing new drivers or, if you keep them up to date, roling back to the old ones.

system includes VIA chipset and SB Live of pre Audigy 2 series?
If the answer is yes, its most likely that you won't get rid of it until you get eiter a new soundcard or revert to onboard audio
