In spite of Mayor Dailey's treachery, I'm glag M$ kept Meigs Field in FS9.  Does anyone know if future versions of Flight Simulator will keep Meigs Field?  I hope so.

I was pleased to learn Horizon Software has released a VFR Chicago product that, has Meigs Field!  Cool!

No-one knows ever what MS will do in the next edition. All we know at the moment is that it is not comming out this year. ;)

What's the update on the case on FAA vs the mayor on Meigs field?

Last I heard about 6 months to a year ago is that the FAA is preparing fines in hundrens of thousands dollars to the city of chicago for unauthorized termination of Meigs field.

I hear rumors it's because of Mayor Dailey's wife which wants it closed due to noise.

Well, Dailey broke several federal laws by abruptly closing it, not to mention a promise not to do so.  Hopefully, they will be succesful in using this against him.

Somehow, I wouldn't be surprised :P A shame what happened to that airport, it had a proud legacy and a strong following.  I hope the FAA milks Dailey for every last dime.

At least we still have it to enjoy in FS9, and hopefully we still will in FS2006 (or whatever's next).

As far as I understood it isn't broken up. A plane could land there in theory still if you know what I mean. So hopefully it will still be in FS10.

Daley has, for decades, wanted to tear down Meigs and put in a park...he finally got it done...

Not legally. ::) It's closed now. Yellow X's on the runway. Closed.

hope they (FAA) take him to court and throw the book at him and force it to be reopened and restored to it's former glory. Even if he has to pay for it all out of his own pocket. I am sure there is plenty of other places to put a park.

I have often wondered how much warning those plane owners on the ground got.....?   I mean somehow they had to get their planes out of there.    Perhaps the overnight attack on the tarmac has been exaggerated ?

I don't believe the overnight attack on the tarmac is being exaggerated.
Owners were forced to take off from the taxiway.
