For scenery it might have a self installer or might not, what i do is unzip it to a temporary folder and find the readme, usally it will say copy this to here and copy the contents of this to another folder like addon scenery or world scenery something like that, just open the readme and that should answer alot of your questions on that particualr download. Feel free to ask anymore questions or pm me.

         Cheers,

For scenery there are differences depending on special features but for the most part your scenery will come in a .zip file with a folder with the scenery name or some kind of indicator of what it is (ie. "BFU Brooks"). Inside that is two folders "Scenery" and "Texture".

The method I use is to put the folder "BFU Brooks" into the "Add On Scenery" folder but you can put this anywhere you want. It's just easier to have all my sceneries in that one folder.

Now start up FS 2004 and click on "Settings"/"Scenery Library"/"Add Area". This will bring up a navigation dialog. Just find "Add On Scenery", open that and find the folder "BFU Brooks" (or whatever you are adding). Don't open the folder just select it. Below you should see "Scenery Area Title" box with the title of your scenery in that. Now click "OK" and exit the simulator. Restart the sim and during the splash screen FS will build a new scenery catalog. Now your scenery is installed.
