You have to type in 1 for left 2 for right immediatly after you start the pushback. I'd say within 2 seconds.

You need to define the 'choice keys' In the FS assignment list..
Then it would be
' Shift p + 1 '
and
' Shift p + 2 '

Hi. I can get push back fine but I am unable to get the L or R push back!! I have tried what it says in the manual. Can any one help!
Press
+ to reverse.
Then...
Quickly press <1> to turn the tail to the left.
or....
Quickly press <2> to turn the tail to the right.
Press + to stop
The aircraft will automatically turn 90 degrees if left.
Wait for the effect to happen..!
Paul.

The aircraft will normally travel about 1 fuselage length before the turn starts to take effect

As already stated, Shift+P starts the pushback. 1 turns the planes tail to the left, 2 turns the tail right. After selecting 1 or 2, the plane will make the turn after the place continues back about 1 plane length.
WARNING!!! If you change you view (i.e. go from cockpit view to tower or spot plane view) you cannot command the left or right turn. (The reason: you enter the command Shift+P and that command is live awaiting a sub command of 1 or 2. If you then make a command to change view, you terminate the open pushback command and that is why hitting 1 or 2 does not work. You could hit Shift+P to stop the pushback, hit it again to restart it and then add the 1 or 2)
So pick a view that works for the pushback (I like the spot plane view) and then do your pushback and turn(s) (yes you can make multiple turns but each one will be 1 plane length before it turns).

Question: Doesn't the turn correspond to the taxi nodes? IOW - when the pushback starts the aircraft almost immediately leaves the parking node; so the turn won't occur until the aircraft reaches the next node.
Is this correct? I was always curious about that.

...best kept secret is that you have to WAIT for it to happen.........start to panic and press other keys will prevent it from happening..........once you get it PRACTICE makes perfect.............commoner

..I got myself one of these pushback switches........works a treat too............cool or what?....commoner

One more note: the 1 and 2 keys are those on the keyboard top row, not the ones on the numpad.
