what kind of planes do you get on FS 2004?
and is microsfort going to create another Flight Sim?

In FS2004 you get a whole bunch.  Since this sim is celebrating a Century of Flight, you get both the standard planes and a selection of historically significant ones.

FS2004 is really good already!!

My current fs2005 folder is 24 gigs....about 1.5 gigs on screenshots though..........

But - Why want default planes, when theres good old SimV right here, with tons of addons, some a lot greater than the Default Aircraft

Some of the default planes are quite nice.  The Jenny is up there with anything I've seen, along with the Cub and the Tri-motor...

Nobody mentioned the Bell jetranger. It's there too.  ;)

Personally I don't really care what Microsoft puts in the sim. I haven't flown a default airplane in months. There's so many good free and payware airplanes out there that are miles above anything that Microsoft has put in the sim. It'd take quite an airplane out of Microsoft to drag me away from my Aerosoft Beaver or Flight One A36 or some of Bill Lyons beauties.

ALROT, if I remember correctly Boeing has some sort of contract or agreement w/ MS so that's why we don't have Airbus aircraft. Also, adding a whole bunch of new aircraft takes a lot of time and judging by MS's crappy Boeing models imagine how bad the new aircraft would look.

Personally I am quite satisfied with the amount of aircraft in FS2004 simply because there are so many great add-on options here at SimV or other sites like it.

I don't think I will jump on FS 2006 on the first day. Like most of you, I did not fly any FS default aircraft since the ATP checkride.

So, I prefere to wait until
1) there is a good choice of add on aircrafts
2) the apropriated machines  for it become less expensive.
3) there is some feed back on the net how it goes with it.

In fact, the default  MS aircraft are not that bad, they simply are good product off software game industry, they are done to be acceptable for the wider public. the cost for their developments are optimized so, the project manager stops the development on it as soon as it match the market requirement. By this, these models cannot be that good. Lack of soul. Nothing to do with those add ons made by individuals working like artists refining the dynamics, look and features until the result is WHAT THEY WANT themselves to fly.
