Pause On Task

I've been trying to fix this for ages, but nobody seems to know.
The 'Pause on task' check-box is no longer making any difference. This means I can't stop FS9 from pausing when making a menu selection.
Someone suggested checking "PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0" in my cfg file. If I set this to 0 or 1, nothing changes.
I'm pulling my hair out with now - Any help world be really appreciated.

Dougal,
Hi and welcome to SimV.
Make a backup of your existing fs9.cfg file. Then delete it from the location it was in. The sim will generate another one with "default" settings. See if that helps.
If it does...... then go back into the new file and put in any custom stuff that you did in the old one. The old one can serve as a guide to the differences.
This OFTEN solves those mystery problems. I am pretty certain that when fs2004 regenerates a new fs9.cfg file that it ALSO does some OTHER filre recreation that we haven't found yet. That is the only logical explanation for some of the "fixes" that happen when you do this, I think.
Hope this helps you.
best,
......john

Pause-on-task refers to switching to another task (program) running under Windows. The functions (menu selections) within FS are NOT tasks so selecting one will automatically PAUSE the SIM engine.
On the other hand, when you uncheck Pause-On-Task, you can (for example) go on the internet or work on your latest killer project in Gmax, or whatever, while the flight to Hawaii you launched and put on autopilot will continue uninterrupted.
That clear it up for you?
