You can hand edit the panel.cfg with notepad or a much better way is to use the free program..........CFGEdit.

It's a "What you see is what you get" ( WYSIWYG) program. Works very well.

CFGEdit is a great program indeed but it does not support FS2004 or FS2002 (according to their website www.cfgedit.com).

For FS2004 you could use FSPanelstudio which is payware. Better use notepad and a lot of patience, trial and error.

Crash ;)

Actually, CFGEdit does work with FS2004, it just don't work with XML gauges. The trick here is to use CFGEdit to place a non-XML gauge in the location and size you want, and then use notepad to change the gauge name to the XML gauge you actually wanted. Most, but not all, of the gauges for the Extra 300 are not XML anyway, so they could be used by CFGEdit directly.

Ok, this has been brought up time and time again.  ;D

CFGEdit DOES work perfictly well with FS9 and all other MS Flight SIMS older than FS9.

The ONLY problem between CfgEdit and  FS9 is the XML gauges. CFGEdit will not display these type gauges............so to speak. You won't see the bitmap of the gauge. What you DO SEE is a purplish, lavender outline of the XML gauge, which is easily dragged around, resized and placed just as normal gauges.

It is the BEST FREE program I have found even for FS9 panel editing. So, it's your choice...........free or shell out the dough!

:o

I agree. Ive been messing with CFG edit, and I really like it. I might start making panels to be uploaded, or at peoples request. Not sure yet, so dont request anything yet. ;)
