can you imagine if someone desigh a software to built virtual cockpits by you, me,and and option at the end to be Fusioned with:Browse/aircraft/meljet/model/*.mdl

Or you could design the entire thing yourself! I for one only started to design my own after wanting more in an FS addon aircraft.

It can be very pleasurable. It can also be frustrating, but the pleasure outweighs the pain!  ;)

There's no protection on the .mdl file. It simply a hex file that can be read by any hex editor. The graphics editing program (FS SDK or GMax etc.) is simply a visual GUI for editing and compiling hex files. The problem is however editing the hex source code. If you are really up on your programming skills and know hex editing inside and out then it's concievably possible to open a .mdl file and edit in a VC but the effort and time doing so would surpass the effort and time of designing a whole new model in a graphic editing program from scratch so the point is moot.
