....I've finally installed FS2004. I've been an FS2002 Pro fan since its release and have expanded it with addons, scenery and other stuff. Changed the cloud and water textures and in generally have been pretty happy with it. Can't run the most recent freeware though as it is tending to be FS2004 only now. Bit of a b*gger when I helped put together the 737 Experience package and couldn't fully experience it!

I've been working on some FDs and effects and have had to rely on others for FS2004 compatibility confirmation, as from all the postings here, FS2004 probably was not going to run well on my system (PIV 2gHz, 512mB RAM, Radeon 9200SE) as with all the sliders maxed, FS2002 tended to stutter a bit in congested scenery (average of 14fps reducing to 5fps).

Then, I was in Philadelphia last week and saw FS2004 at an amazing $29 in Best Buy (it's

Welcome to the club!
I personally feel that the comments on a lower end machine are over exaggerated. I at first was running on a Dell 4500 with 512Mb RAM and on board graphics with little or no trouble, of course you cant expect to have settings maxed out but it was smooth.
Since then I upgraded memory to 1 Gig, and added a Audigy 2ZX and FX 5200 (most of whom call crap) and I run perfect settings maxed with frames sticking in the high 30s.
All it is is tweaking and even on a lower end machine FS9 can run well ;) Upgrade help but aren't necessary.
As for the add-ons almost all that work in 2002 will work in 2004!

hehehe, been a FS95, FS98, FS2000, FS2002, and FS2004 user..;)

As far as I;m concerned FS2004 is really quite better than 2002...

Just an example is how you can declare IFR plan in flight.
