im starting a tour of australia, landing at all the major aiports and a few others. anyone know of a good plane i could use?

G'day mate. Use anything yer like. Yer average 727'll get yer inter the major airports but most of the ga planes available will get yer round the place. Pretty flat place mostly,weather generally good for flying and no kangaroos or wombats at 10'000ft,ay!

Have a look here in the files for scenery addons(bloody oath there's scenery).

Don't ferget Tassie and tack NZ on yer list to visit(I know we always give the Kiwis s**t  but,hey,what are mates for?)

Oh,fergot ter mention,theres mostly a long way from anywhere here,so if yer crash yer might need the flying doctor. But don't worry we've got bloody good doctors.

I would recommend using a 737-700 like the one I use for my VA, Virgin Blue!!

You could the great excellent model by our very own Moach or you could try the payware PMDG 737NexGen Series

and you can use a 737-300(regular CityFlyer) or a A340.

There are many air service providers in Australia that operate a variety of aircraft in different roles and depending on your needs you will find everything from Cessna 172s to 747s----take your pick!

I used a Beech Bonanza for a 'round the country flight (USA) and it turned out pretty good.  I made 20 or so stops, and flew roughly one a day.  

- If you're doing this for the scenery, get the Boeing Stearman.

- If you're doing this for the flying, get the Beech Bonanza

- If you're doing this for the scenery, however you want things to go a litte faster, the Bloch mb152 I beleive would do great, for that thing is a rocket

-If you want it done high and fast, get either Moach's 737-700, or grab something from your hangar, a 727.

Also, if you want to look around a bit, I would highly suggest getting new mesh for Austrailia.  Unfortunately, it's all pretty bare by default.

I'd use the default King Air for sight-seeing. If you're a masochist a Cub is fun

Since all the cities are on the coast, doing 'the four corners and the middle' makes a fair bit of sense.

I'd suggest starting from Melbourne, Victoria (my home town) and going to Hobart, Tasmania; Sydney NSW; Brisbane and then Cairns, Queensland; Darwin, Northern Territory; Learmonth and then Perth, Western Australia.

Then cut inland to Alice Springs (or Ayers Rock Airport if you're using something small or medium-sized); then Adelaide, South Australia, and back to Melbourne.

Allow plenty of time; the various legs average about 800 miles each.

You can fly past Ayers Rock, which shows up well on FS. Look it up on the net to get the direction from Alice or Ayers Rock Field.
