If it's what I think it is, a effects file for wheel and prop dust on dirt runways, then you may have to edit the effect in to each airplane you want it to show in. It could also be a replacement dust for the default. In that case I'm not sure since it should just replace the dust already there. Did it overwrite anything when you put the effect in the "efects" folder?

No you put it in the "Effects" folder but you also have to edit the Aircraft.cfg file so it will show up in the sim. Since the effect isn't showing then I imagine it's not just a replacement for the default dust so you'll have to open the Aircraft.cfg file in Notepad and under the [EFFECTS] heading look for this:

dirt=fx_tchdrt

Change the fx_tchdrt to the name of the effects file you put in the effects folder.

If this is the problem you will also have to do this with any airplane you want this effect to work on.

Another possibility if you want every airplane to show the effect and don't want to edit all your .cfg files is to change the effects file name to the default dust effect. In this case change the file to "fx_tchdrt".

NOTE**It's always a good idea to make a backup of any file you edit or make sure you can remember what to change to put it back to the way you had it just in case you make a mistake or don't like the changes.**NOTE
