I just found that out too....

When pressing Shift+E you select the exit option the you can choose exits by pressing 1 or maybe 2 just the number no shift or anything. mind you mosr planes only have 1 and 2 as an option. other surfaces are controlled either by:

Shift+W (refuelling probe option)
Shift+F   ( Wing-fold command)
Shfit+T   ( Tailhook)

those are usually the selectors for surface movements like opening doors and such.

Hope this helps

Not a stupid question at all. FS help does a really poor job of explaining that you must hit Shift+E and then release them and quickly hit 2. If you hold down the Shift then you'll call up the auxillary panels which use Shift+1-9 depending on how many panels the aircraft has.

Hit "Shift+E" then release both and quickly hit "2". Shift+E tells the sim you are selecting to open the Exit and 2 means the second exit. Same thing for selecting engines ("E" let off and quickly "1-2-3-4).

Oh, be aware that FS isn't very good however with this command. You may have to try a couple times and sometimes even that don't work but that's the default way of doing it. Good ol'e buggy FS.
