I havent had this problem before. Heres my question: i know when using ILS it should automatically do the glideslope. When i set it to APR (or APP in some aircaft) and NAV setting on the toggleswitch the ALT hold setting on the autopilot automatically turns off, but its not controlling the altitude because i can move the aircraft severly with the joystick. I dont know to much about ILS with glideslope but i have done it many times now i cant figure out what im doing wrong. I turn the ALT hold back on but it stays on untill i fly over the airport. Can someone help me?

ILS approaches dont always have a glideslope, sometimes they are what is referred to as a backcourse, in which case you will use the BACK or REV course button instead of the APPROACH button, and if it is a backcourse approach you will have localizer information, but no glideslope, so you will have to control your altittude manually.......

MT, there's nothing wrong with the stick overruling the autopilot - that's normal (on the real thing as well).
The most likely problem is that you are not giving the autopilot time to line you up - if 'ALT' goes out it has definitely acquired the glideslope, give it time to do its job.
Another possibility is that you are coming in at the wrong height - either too far below the glideslope or above it.
Maybe see if this helps you identify the problem?
