call for help on scenery

Lately I began using the AFCAD program to see if I could build some aviation fields on my neighborhood (some really existing but snubbed by FS and some completely fictional).

AFCAD I mastered easily enough, and easily enough I built in FS a really existing field not far from here. The end results was satisfactory enough for a first try, but I ended up having miscalculated an annoyance.

A tree filled runway is not really that useful, is it? :(

I'm aware that there are commands to put in the scenery.cfg (the EXCLUDE for the trees and the FLATTEN to make the land around behave) to make so that this problem is a bad memory, but I wish I could in some way make so that they would be integrated in the BGL file AFCAD created, for possible future sharing of said BGL files over the net.

A search on the net did not help me find any kind of software that could allow me to do so, but I know it's possible, so I'm asking here.

Do any of you know of a software that could help me build my airports out of nothing? Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I would also really appreciate if someone could explain to me in a more precise way than I actually know how the EXCLUDE and FLATTEN commands work, or could point me to a link where they are explained, please.

Have you looked at Flight Simulator Scenery Creator?  It's very easy to use.  Lots of options.  here is the link if you're interested: www.fssc.avsim.net/

ExcBuilder v2.0 might be just what you're looking for. It's posted here. http://www.scenery.org/design_utilities_b.htm

This should explain the basics. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2000_articles_sceneryobjects.asp

I believe an FSSC exclude will wipe out everything including your new runway, you'll need to move to the newer tools.

You can either use Excludebuiilder2 just to delete the trees, or you can use Ground2k4 to lay a VTP2 poly and possibly if needed an LWM flatten.

I've written a short tutorial for doing this using ground2k4, you may or may not find it usefull lol!

Thanks for your help, people. I'll try the paths proposed as soon I get a little time for myself (this weekend, the sooner). :)
