Where do I go to get the information on whether an airport with ILS has a both localizer AND glidepath or only a localizer.  Sometimes I arrive at the airport and realize the plane is not tracking any glidepath because apparently none exists.

Check your in-flight map and zoom in on your desired airport, and there should be symbols that denote what typs of navaids are there. A full ILS is depicted as a long, green arror, DMEs are blue boxes, VORs hexagons and NDBs little pink dots.  

If there's no ILS, but other navaids you'll probably have to make a DME/NDB or visual.

This is where charts can make-or-break a flight (or at least the landing phase), especially with DME/NDB approaches as they have the descent profiles listed. Same goes for ILS backcourses.

Look at your ILS feather......if there is a triangle pointed towards the runway, then it has a localizer and a glideslope, but if there is an arrow pointed AWAY from the direction of the runway then it has a localizer only...

P.S. In the case where it is a localizer only, you will have to use the backcourse instead of the approach button, and you will have to control your altittude manually, but the localizer will still keep you centered on the runway .....

If using FS9 enter the ICAO into the GPS using DEST then activate PROC to see a list  of available procedures.
