Pan view in vitual cockpit

Postby Springer6 » Sun May 08, 2005 8:44 am

I'm sure that I was able at one time to pan the viewpoint with the joystick top hat whilst in virtual cockpit view and when  released it would spring back to the straight ahead position. I currently have the setting whereby the pan viewpoint stays where you leave it.

Can anyone remember how to change this setting ?

i'm not sure what you say is possible.... when in 2d cockpit mode, the view snaps back to center when you release the hat, but in vc mode it is always set to stay where you leave it

there is a shortcut to reset the view to center, i usually leave it assigned to spacebar, so its easy to reach ;)

I have never known the VC to return to the straight ahead position unless you manually move it back with the hatswitch.....but maybe there is a way, and someone else knows how to do it.... ???
Or as Moach just stated you can use the spacebar to return to the straight ahead position, I think the spacebar is the default, but it can be changed...

I believe I havent changed my key command for it from default, but for me its the space bar when in VC to move it back to its original position

Yeah I think you guys are correct . You can change views in vc by using number pad numbers and it does spring back to centre view ( but loses any mini panels etc that you had open in the process) ( why is that ? most annoying), but for use of the hat you have to press space bar.

Must have dreamt it or more like confused it with use of number pad change of view.

One for an improvement in FS10 though I think :)

No unfortuanately you can't , but you can use the Num pad 7 and 9 to have a quick glimpse at 45 deg to forward or 4 and 5 for 90 deg views.
Helps with VC flying , but far from satisfactory especially since you lose any open mini panels etc.

As I said room for improvement in FS10 . Please note Microsoft
