Weather causes dramastic change

Postby jrpilot » Sun May 08, 2005 3:46 pm

I was just doing a flight and it seemed that in the middle of the flight the aircraft would point in different all over and the speed would increase and decrease whenever the (real world) weather would change...any suggestion, does FSUIPC cover this?

Yes, FSUIPC does smoothen the windchanges

FS 2004 doesn't have gradual transition between wind layers. When you fly from one layer into another you get a sudden shift in wind. FSUIPC helps some but you'll still notice a big shift very suddenly. I've gone from a 40kt tailwind to a 60kt headwind in less than 200 ft a number of times.

Isn't unticking 'use winds aloft'(or whatever the actual option is) meant to help? ???
