Flying round the world

hi guys

I would like to fly round the world in FS9, and i was wondering what plane i should use. I would like it to be a small aircraft either a non-supersonic jet or a fastish prop, it needs to be able to fly the shortest route across the atlantic ocean, it also needs to be freeware and preferably a single engine but a twin will be ok. Also please post a link of where i can download it. I was thinking of useing a hawk T1-A but i do not belive this can make the distence across the atlantic.

When i do start the trip i may do a multi-player so others can fly along with me too.

Any suggestions on thw plane are welcome Thx Matt 8) ;D

A certain famous plane recently flown by Steve Fossett into the record books is available if you want to do it in a single hop ;)
Personally I like Beechcraft for longish hauls, I'd recommend a twin as if you're using a single and have an engine failure the Atlantic is a big bit of gliding ;D

if your doing it hop to hop, a beechcraft baron 58 default did just fine, i went Chicago-Ohare to Canada to Greenland to Iceland to the UK. it was long, but worth. if your doing it non-stop, you got me there...

*EDIT* just realized it said around the world.... this changes much...

I started to do it in the Mooney Bravo, but I got so bored over Russia that I gave up and moved on to something else. But yeah, the Mooney is nice for that sort of thing.

I too have thought about doing this, and after some conclusions I came up with several different aircraft dependent on my mood on the day that I set out, my goals, (Round the world non-stop, or many stops?)

Cessna 172R = Many stops, but many great sights and more planning experience along the way

Mooney Bravo = same as above but a little faster

Beechcraft Baron 58 = decent speeds, but only medium cruise altitudes

Beechcraft King-air = decent speeds higher max ceiling, etc. May lose some sight seeng climbing above the weather, but at least it hs the proper deice equipment to fly in bad weather should it pop up along the way...

In essence it's really up to you and what you want to do.. ;)

If you are into many hops and don't mind multiplayer check out:

www.wspilots.com

Pretty laid back place and teamspeak isn;t required 99.97% of the time. They also have a hoplist of 1100+ hops which are designed to take you around the world.. ;)

Be prepared to do some decent preflight planning though, there have been numerous times when I've arrived at my destination in my little 172 to find that the airfield is a lake!  :o
