I have seen articles in the forums on how to correct problems with aircraft veering across runways at startup relating to use of the joystick and am looking for the solution on how to correct the problem,however i have searched high and low with no success - any help would be appreciated.
Also I believe there was a solution to an auto pilot problem.
That problem being that once you set the altitude or nav you have no means of changing course when altitude is set or changing altitude when nav is set. Again any help on this would be appreciated.

the reason why planes tend to side on takeoff is not totally joystick related, it is that the spin of the propeller causes the plane to veer to the opposite side.

thats very common on all single props, all you gotta do is compensate with the rudder, same as for wind

if you feel like this effect is exagerated, you can turn it down a notch in the REALISM screen by turning down the TORQUE effect


as for the autipilot thing:
no, you can change course when NAV is set because NAV locks the plane to the flight plan (if NAV/GPS is set to GPS) or to track a VOR (if NAV/GPS is set to NAV)

about not beaing able to turn when ALTITUDE HOLD is on, if i recall correctly, FS2004 had a bug where the autopilot would activate the YAW DUMPER when ALT HOLD is on... there's a patch for that

........Hi, to stop the Auto Pilot from automatically turning on the wing leveler (the bug which prevents you from turning)

Add the following lines in the Autopilot section of the aircraft.cfg file for EACH aircraft that you want to modify:

use_no_default_bank=1
use_no_default_pitch=1
