Could be one of several reasons depending on the acft. you downloaded.
Either no gauges came with the download or you installed them incorrectly.
On some acft., the gauges for that download have to remain in their OWN folder and not dumped directly into the FS9 GAUGES folder.
Go to your panel.cfg in that acft. folder and look at the MAIN panel gauge listings.
If it says for example:
gauge00=f14/hsi or something to this affect.......then the gauges MUST be in a folder titled f14... This is denoted by the f14/ BEFORE the hsi...or whatever gauge was listed as gauge00 for you.
Here's one of my F14's panel.cfg files..........part of it:
This is for the main panel [Window00]
gauge00=Tomcat/f14toggle!Panel.toggle.30,488,504,40,33
gauge01=Tomcat/fsd_rf4.sadi!FSD_RF4.SAdi,545,415,67,67
gauge02=Tomcat/fsd_rf4.hsi!FSD_RF4.Hsi,541,488,101,100
gauge03=Tomcat/fsd_rf4.gmeter!FSD_RF4.gmeter,616,415,67,66
gauge04=Tomcat/fsd_rf4.alt!FSD_RF4.Alt,153,494,105,96
You can see by the word TOMCAT after "gauge00=" that this gauge, and the others too, are located in a folder called Tomcat WITHIN the FS9 GAUGES folder.
If I had just dumped all those gauges directly into the FS9 GAUGES folder, I wouldn't see any gauges.
If you have already dumped those gauges directly into the FS9 GAUGES folder and don't fell like hunting them all down...........then just remove the folder name right before the gauge name. For mine I would have to change..
gauge00=Tomcat/f14toggle!Panel.toggle......
TO gauge00=f14toggle!Panel.toggle
See that? You would have to do this for each gauge that is listing a FOLDER first.
Might be better to just hunt the gauges down, remove them and then install them correctly.
Double check the readme that should have accompanied the acft. download.
Good luck.

Hmmmm, don't know for sure. Huds display fine here. They are no different than any other gauge and are also dependent on the correct set up as mentioned above.
However, MOST huds are written into the panel.cfg as seperate [Windows] so there could be something there.
If you are famaliar with panel.cfg, then take a close look at how they are written into the panel.cfg and see if you can detect a problem.
If you are not familiar with them, then give a little more detail on what acft. or is it ALL acft. huds won't display?
