Hey can any of you guys help me? I can get the reflective textures to work or the reflecting water...Before I reformatted my computer I had all those textures....but now I don't......I got the new directx......can anyone assist me in this issue? Like if I have chrome aircraft it will turn out gray or white

...just make sure you have aircraft reflections checked.....Settings/Display/Aircraft/...just a thought.    commoner

Also make sure you have the correct drivers for your video card installed.

I need help too..... but you don't see me complaining..;-)

sorry you can't seem to get em to work, not sure what could be the problem...

check if you have water effects turned to 'high' in the display optins menu...

if this doesn't work or if you can't turn the slider up, the problem may be that your video card doesn't support this effect (happened to me)

Like Moach said some cards don't show water reflections. Like the MX cards....

Do you mean you had reflective water effects before? That means the card must be compliant with Directx 8.1 or above so it could be a number of things (best to wait for someone else to clarify with these things, I'm not liable if they screw up your computer  ::))

-Video drivers - latest versions
-Directx - if you go to "start" and then "run" and type in dxdiag. Then run some of the directdraw tests.
-Are you sure the textures you are using are reflective. I don't know if its possible to install textures that don't reflect for earlier cards (like my gf 4  ;D).
-make sure the reflection settings are at high in your main display menu. If they don't stay at high though it seems that the driver's you've installed don't support the reflections or msfs doesn't recognise them as supporting it.

Like I said, wait for someone more experienced to clarify any of this.

....why don't you give us a screen shot of the water as you have it now..........it would help to know what is happening...........commoner
