Hi everyone ;D

I'm doing a tour of america at the moment From San Diago to Kansas then back to Seattle and up to Calgary and then across to NY.  Are there citys of interest in Amercia that I should see or something cool to go and check out?

For my money, scenic cities not to be missed are San Francisco and Washington DC (but land at Reagan National Airport in DC, not Dulles - views of the city).

In New York, I'd suggest landing at La Guardia, not Kennedy - once again, better city views.

For scenic route flying I'd suggest parking the turbofan and jumping into your favorite ATR or DHC8 (still airline flying) and plan some 30nm hops along the same route using LA routing in FS9 Flightplanner.

These are what we call "good hours" inasmuch as soon as straight-and-level is achieved it's time to start the landing checks. Keeps your hands (and mind) busy!

Check out THE DEL before leaving KSAN

P.S. for scenic flights I'd be in the mountains

Should stop by at Las Vegas while you are on the west ;)

I haven't chedked out very many US cities in FS9 yet, and the aforementioned make a good list, but I'd definitely recommend upgrading the stock terrain mesh if you haven't already. The freeware mesh available here is not perfect, but it helps enhance "America the Beautiful" quite nicely.
And of course on your way from Canada to NYC you should visit Niagara Falls! :)

You won't regret starting to plan trips, Chris - especially in the USA. Lots of interest, much better than just tooling about.

To whet your appetite, two of my favourite screenshots. Both 'impulse' shots, just things that happened and I managed to press the button at the right moment. Default scenery only:-

And DH88 Comet Racer on a night approach to Reagan National, Washington DC (no autopilot or ILS on this aeroplane, but a helluva good view) -

I did one of these, my route wasn't quite as extensive.
