I have no idea whats up...... Some of my bigger planes (FS france concorde, and PSS Concorde and some others I dont remember) Bounce on the runway, sink oddly, and then Crash...... Any idea on how to fix this? I've had this problem a long time but ignored it until I found my PSS Concorde with a tarp on it  ::) Well Thanks for any help, Cheers Gunny04

I start up FS..... Load the planes.... Change view, Plane bounces.... goes up to like 5ft then sinks like in water....... sooo annoying No clue why. Its not my landings. Its on the runway in a cold and dark plane...... hmmmm Strange..... I'll look into Contact points! Cheers, Gunny04

This is gonna sound funny especially with payware.... THE WHEELS ARE NOT IN CONTACT with the ground! I used my F1 view and zoomed in..... more or less, there an inch or more of the runway..... this could be the blimey problem.... Any suggestions? I have almost no expierence modifying That type of thing in the CFG.... Cheers, Gunny04

i dont know if this has aney thing to do with what this problem is but when i first started flying the  cesna caravan when i would land the plane it would bounce alot and i figured out that pressing the brakes to long would make it start bouncing so try landing it difirent ways

Now, now...  Don't blame the sim if you land a bit hard.  ;)

How can you land if you cant take off? lol..... yep The bloody heavier planes in my sim do a little dance then slam into ground on idle while I sit there...... Now as for the landing I did 2 days ago...... I had a good flare, (FSfrance concorde) Good Speed, Good contact and BANG..... I was flying MP with Gunnerman, He did a good landing and his concorde just sank into one side. Must be a CFG problem  ??? cheers, Gunny04

...mmmm....just for a start you could go to the aircraft/realism settings area and either turn off crash detection or turn down the slider if it is way up............just to see if there is any change..............commoner  ;)

If it is the contact points I am sure one of us could talk you through it.........there is a post somewhere on this but can't find it ...

I think I read on a PSS support forum that the bouncing on the runway problem is to do with FS and not the actual aircrafts

I remember having this strange phenomen with some add on planes on FS98.

Noithing to do with landing, It starts with the plane stoped on the parking which starts jerking like a cow in a rodeo.

Gunny in answer to your question bouncing
usually caused by:

a) incorrect fuel capacity (usually too high)
b) incorrect Max Gross Takeoff Weight (usually too low)
c) incorrect Zero Fuel Weight (related to the above or forgetting to add crew
and non-fuel payload to published 'empty weight').
d) incorrect landing gear height where the gear is longer than shown by the model


The best solution is always to use correct specs.  Many designers try to
increase fuel capacity to get extra range, while the main wing geometry is the
real problem.  Same applies to Max Weights: many designers use reduced max
weights to gain speed or range, while the real problem is in the wing geometry
or drag coefficients.  Use the same numbers for wing and stabilizer dimensions
that the original aircraft engineers used - FS prefers them too

Please tell us the aircraft you have the problem with and maybe we cna help get the aircraft.cfg file straightened out.

yah alot of my jets even the dafaults bounce even when not moving but thay never crash so its more of a nucence than aneythin for me

I had one that was worse than a bucking bronco. From startup, at the gate and with crash detection off, it would start bouncing and eventually bounce its way off the airport. You had no control over the aircraft at all. It would bounce as high as some of the buildings around the airport. To correct that I finally replaced the aircraft.cfg file with one that didnt have that problem. I still have the old cfg file and have been playing with it to get it right. So far I have found that the landing gear length settings were off by as much as 15 feet. That cured some of the problem but so far I have not been able to completely eliminate the bounce.

My suggestion to Gunny would be to find another aircraft of the same type and fly that one. If he really wants the original then replace the aircraft.cfg file with one from a similar aircraft and that should fix that.

And as far as my earlier comment goes I apologize if I sounded slightly upset. The replys I was reading seemed awfully similar to another forum, not any in simviation, where the members only made fun of and critisized the member for asking for help. I know everybody here, includung you commoner, have helped me in the past with problems for which I am very grateful.

I had lurked around here since FS98 and finally joined because of the friendliness and helpfullness of the community here. Why it took so long I couldnt really tell you but I am glad I finally joined.
