Default 777 panel adjustment..

Is there anyway to adjust the height of the default 777 panel? I would like to lower the top edge. It is too high for me. I know you can adjust the 737,747 panel with the mouse, but I can't do this with the 777.

Any ideas? Is there a way to adjust the 777 panel height? ???

f-16, 'Shift/Enter' lowers any panel. "Shift/Backspace' to raise it again. Unfortunately, though, if you change the view or switch to the VC, it goes back up again.

I think there's a way of changing the setting for good by modifying the 'Aircraft.cfg' file, but I forget how - maybe someone else can help.

It can be resized, but as the overhead is part of the main panel bitmap you have to grab it at the top of the overhead.

Unfortunately, this leaves the overhead 'floating' in the windscreen, not very realistic.

Probably better of to use the shift+enter/backspace (raise/lower view) and +/-  (zoom) to get the view you need.

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks Guys.. Unfortunatly it does not help me. Like you said the upper panel is part of the main panel and that is the problem. The Shift/Enter does not help me.

I guess I could just adjust the upper panel down a little and then turn it off. That would help.

If it really bothers you the only way I can see of doing this would be to modify the panel. It could be split into 2 separate parts with the overhead display on a pop-up like the other default panels. This would mean repositioning the gauges on the main panel but it shouldn't be difficult for anyone with a basic knowledge of panels.

I haven't tried it with this particular panel but I can't see why the Shift + Enter/Backspace raise/lower seat commands wouldn't work. An alternative is to toggle beween the minipanel & main panel (W key). I always use this method myself as it seems more realistic to me.

Sorry, f-16, misunderstood what you wanted. Most people ask how to deal with the top of the instrument panel being too high.

About the windscreen view, I tried it (on the 777) and find that if you 'click and hold' the mouse in the middle of the windscreen, you can move the whole screen down. You can move the overhead panel the same way (click and hold) if you like.

Of course, that will leave you with a black strip at the top of the (computer) screen, but you can fix that too, by putting the mouse at the top edge of the screen - when the mouse pointer becomes a 'double arrow' you can extend the whole top of the screen upwards, and the bottom part stays where it is.

Forgive me, though, I can't for the life of me work out WHY you want to do it!  :) It's just going to give you a view of a lot more sky, and useful things that you need to see (like the runway at takeoff, for example :)) are going to sink from view!
