Chris - no, sorry, one of the limitations of FS, there's no way you can find out, short of going up there to look. Which isn't a sensible option if you're short of fuel and looking for a tailwind......

Beefhole wrote something that I found very useful :)

It is possible indeed. If you are using real world weather, simply click on the weather options, then advanced. Now you can click on each individual weather station and see the current wind layer at your altitude.  :)

Glad to see that little trick being passed around, it has been invaluable to me the past year or so ;)

Nexus or beefhole - what EXACTLY do you click on? I don't see anything about 'advanced' options when I click on 'Weather'?

I'll give you the step by step.

First, go to weather.  Hit "real world weather(updated or static)" and then hit ok.  Then, go back into the weather screen and click on "user-defined weather".  Now, click on advanced.  From this window you can click on each individual weather station.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to hit "cancel, cancel" on your way out, or else you'll have to go back in and click on real world weather all over again.

Hope that clears things up ;)
