The FDSFX panel is a utility that has recordings of flight crews, ambient sounds, and some hilarious music that you can use in FS9.

If anyone is familiar with this panel I need your help in understanding how to edit the panel. For reasons unknown to me sometimes when I right click to assign a track (MP3 ofcourse) to the player. It gets stuck and FS9 Freezes.

I changed the name of the files in the Sound folder of FDSFX with the tracks of the songs I wanted to hear and it worked. But still within FS9 to bring up the window to alter the sound or loop the track when I right click on a button it causes FS9 to freeze up.

Now the BP plus panel is a spin off panel of the FDSFX panel (available from AVSIM) this panel is very complicating to edit the trick I did in FDSFX won't work here because the sound file is not connected to the Sound CFG with the Panel CFG. But the same thing happens when you right click on a button. It causes FS9 to freeze.

if anyone has tried using this panel and has discovered a quirk to editing the sound files seamlessly. Please share that information with me. Because I am ready to pull all my hair out with this!

Wow thanks for the help guys  :-/!

For anyone wishing to know how to edit the FDSFX Panel and BushPilot panel read on!

FDSFX Panel is real easy to edit. Just find an MP3 file and change the name of it to the name used by the default MP3 file in the panel for a certain switch.

BushPilot Panel (a spinoff available at Avsim) is just as easy to do (Now that I figured out my simple error) If you have real 1 player or the Dell jukebox. Use its file converter switch to convert your mp3 files to wav.files and rename them exactly as the default files. The trick that threw me off with this panel is that the switches were programmed to read both WAV. and MP3 files. If you placed a MP3 file on a WAV programmed switch it would not play.

So now these awesome panels allow you to listen to up to a whopping 42 different tracks of your choice!

Just incase no one knows what I am talking about if you go to the Panels Download library. You will see a panel marked FDSFX. This is a custimizable panel that allows you to play your favorite music or sound effects in FS9 the files must be in (Mp3, Wav, or WMA format) in order for them to work!

So happy flying this makes FS9 all the more enjoyable with the ability to play background music while you fly!

enjoy it, now that you know you can edit it! Look in the panel directories at Avsim for a secondth panel (a spinoff) called BS Plus (Bush Pilot). It gives you an addition 21 spaces for more songs.

It doesn't hurt to be able to store all your favorite songs while playing FS9. The music sure does help you concentrate on LANDING on a carrier. or just help you relax your mind and enjoy the scenery while you fly!
