Engine Problem

okay this is my problem:

when im on approach I leave airspeed and approach hold on, when im 200 foot above the runway, ill press enter to disengage autopilot, then backspace to disengage the autothrottles, but when i pull the throttle back to zero nothing happens whatsoever, the airspeed stays exactly the same. eventually I manage the plane to touch down, (by putting into a nose down dive, its the only way, if i pullback i just climb rapidly), then, once ive come to a halt, (with spoilers on, flaps full, and holding down brakes), the second i release the plane the airspeed goes up to like 50 or something in no more than 10 seconds. i tried making sure the approach hold button wasn't lit, and the flight director was off, but this made no difference  :(,

by the way, im not flaring too fast, im flaring at 155 knots in a 777.

After disengaging the autothrottle, you need to "cycle" the throttle control a little so that the sim knows the position of the control; i.e., you should probably throttle up just slightly to reestablish the control before bringing the throttle back to zero.
Also, keep in mind that the engines for large planes such as the 777 take a little while to spool down.

there just the keys that I've set them to !  ;) (mainly so I can quickly turn both of them on or off rather than reaching over for z and pressing a key combo for the autothrottles)

and @Mark ya I had some idea I might have to do that, it would make sense, I'll try it later, thanks. :)

Every aircraft flares, even if its only by a few degrees nose up.

As for your theory, the 777's are MEANT to be flared, your just assuming that I cut power instantly and pull up like 20 degrees.

The procedure is virtually the same for all aircraft, except with the 777 your meant to just have a bit of trim on the plane, not cut the throttles  too fast, and just ease the airplane on to the runway with gentle pressure to avoid tailstrike.
