I had downloaded cargo aircraft wich use this command to open and close the cargo bays, however this commando dont work. Also another command that dont work is the one for the "water rudder" , Shift+W, wich also dont work.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Are you using the Saitek X-45?  If so make sure the Mode switch on the throttle is in the middle (that will interfere with the function).  Sometimes the shift+E function just becomes locked till you reload FS.  A pisser, but that's the way it is....

'Shift-E' for exit doors is a standard FS command.  But it doesn't usually work unless the parking brake is on.

There is a knack to using this command.

First off there is the Shift+E command.  This opens the primary door.  On the planes I have the brakes do not have to be on at all I can even open up whilst flying.

To use the secondary door open command its a little trickier.  This is how to do it.  You press Shift+E together, release and then hit 2 quickly after.  You do not press all three at the same time.  Once you get the knack its easy.

So its press Shift+E together, release then hit 2 quickly.


As for your water rudder go to your control assignments and double check that Water Rudders is still set as Shift+W.  That is actually set as default in the game though you may have accidently changed it somehow.

Since when do you need the parking beake on to open the doors. mabye for addon aircraft, but default and a majority of aircraft don't have their doors tied to their brakes.

now if you have intentions to open doors mid-flight (why not! ) mind you that the "wing fold/unfold" command won't work, because, simple as it sounds, the sim will think you are folding the wings

I've also noticed that on some addon aircraft that the Shift + E + 2 won't work if the engines are running.

Another joystick-related problem I've seen is that sometimes there is a conflict between key commands and button commands. Check in the FS Assignments list, and if there's some joystick assignment there for "open door" or "water rudder", get rid of it (or get rid of the keyboard command if you prefer using the stick buttons).
Also, for what it's worth, most of the a.c. with watter rudders have a working lever in the VC that should do the trick.
