FS2004 shutting down

Hello all,
Hoping someone could help me out
I am pretty sure I am adding new aircraft correctly however, once I have installed installed new aircraft, I open FS2004, and select the new aircraft (you can see the new plane). As soon as I click "Fly Now", FS2004 shuts down immediately. Am I having a compatiblity problem? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

I've tried the FS2002/2004 Airbus A310-304 Hapag Lloyd "White Colors". - "a310hlfwhite". Also , Project OpenSky's - FS2004 Singapore Airlines A340-313E Celestar.
I've also tried a few others but have since deleted them assuming the files might have been corupted.
However, the problem existed with all of my downloaded aircraft.
Thanks!

"Am I having a compatiblity problem?"
Yes.  ;D
1.)try deleting your fs9.cfg and restart FS9 and the program will create a new fs9.cfg without any errors
2.) always select default flight before selecting other planes or saved flights
bill
p.s. fs9.cfg is here:
C:\Documents and Settings\You\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.CFG
