Actually ACARS is an Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System that uses a digital data link system transmitted via VHF radio which allows airline flight operations departments to communicate with the various aircraft in their fleet.
Clear as mud?
But still thanks for informing me about ACARS coz I didn't know what they were either.
