How can I run FS2004 in the backround??

Well, I know that it is a pretty stuipid question coming from me since I have been using the FS series since 2000, but I took a one year break and I forgot how to make Flight sim run in the backround  ::)! I remember that in FS2002 there was an option that you had to check off in the realism setting or something like that. Is there such a thing in FS2004? And if there is...where do I find it ???
Thank you very much in advance!!
Vic

By 'run in backround' I mean to have set up a flight, have it on autopilot, and Alt+Tab out of flight sim without having the "simulation paused".

Settings/General.......pause on task switch.

Have never really used it as if flying ifr or flight following some one has to answer ATC.

But found an FS9.cfg entry for [Virtualcopilot]-virtualcopilotactive=, and am experimenting to see if he will take care of such tasks.

Thanks!!
The main reason I wanted is it so I can switch to the map function to check frequencies, runway info, ect. I only Alt+Tab if I need to glance at the checklist of an addon aircraft (if it doesnt have the checklist in the kneepad) It just pisses me off that it always paused...and the no pause also makes it more realistic (now you want take all day to get airport info when you have some questions during descent!)
Thanks again!

Vic you can add most anything to the kneeboard even Google the Web, and that makes for a more realistic experience...there are one or two posts here somewhere not too long ago on the subject..that might be better than running in the background which is a pretty poor substitute..commoner ;)

I d/l'd an application called "vpn1.4" that installs within the
kneeboard environment. When you click on the "A" on the
kneeboard this app starts and will give you pre-programmed
options to get aviation weather, airport & nav data, approach
charts and a few other things. If you are comfortable
with HTML programming you can easily add your own
links to web resources.
This app also has a "address" bar for entering an URL
directly.

I use this application all the time while flying.
You should be able to find the application at avsim
or simviation.

Thanks!
Now I wonder...in real commercial aircraft do the pilots have access to the internet? (newer airbuses and boeings) ;D
