Question 1: What are Squawk Codes? ATC always says to accept Squawk 3556 or something like that and I dont know what that means.

Question 2: When downloading some Aircraft of the Internet, my Frame Rate really goes down especially ones with high Textures. Like I just downloaded a Lockheed Constellation and its a beatiful Aircraft but it has some really high resollution texture which will make my Computer lag alot. Can I somehow reduce the Size of those Textures to make it run smoother?

1) Squawk refers to the transponder radio (identified as XPDR in default radio stack). This unit automatically sends information to ATC identifying/about your aircraft, which is then automatically associated with your radar blip.

So when ATC says 'sqwauk 3559' it means tune your XPDR to freq. 3559. (In FS9 this is done automatically when you acknowledge ATC.). If for some reason you are advised '..services terminated, sqwauk 1200', you must do this manually.

2) Suppose you could reduce the textures using 'DxtBmp'.

as far as question 2 there are some that are "framerate friendly" and dont effect fps as much I usually dont have a problem but I tried a 757 DHL one that killed my FPS.
