HEy clipper, you flew the comet (and thanks for the link). but I'm not seeing doors, gear, or flap movements. and it says this aircraft is designed for FS9. whats goin on here?

Is this the DH.106 Comet airliner? If it's the one I think you mean it's a Comet 4C for FS2000 by David Maltby updated for FS2002. I haven't tried it but it says on the download page that it's not fully-compatible with FS9. Clicking the No option on the warning message that pops up when you first select it in FS9 that will give you the best results. The gear & flap animation should function but FS2000 aircraft are unlikely to have opening doors & other goodies. I'm sure there are proper FS9 versions of the Comet around but I can't remember who they're by right now.

PS. If you clicked the Yes option you need to tweak its entry in fs9.cfg. Look for it listed under the [FrameCallNoWarn] header & change the value from 0 to 1.

Drum. I had the same problems. It wasn't designed for fs9, but works with limited features. I have no gear at all. I clicked the no option when the warning came up. I've not yet seen a more compatible version, but if I do, you're the first one I'll notify...

You guys might try looking here- http://81.208.92.5/hjg/index.htm- The historic Jetliners group. The only problem with this site is that they have their planes listed by airline, not by aircraft. Ive been looking for an RC-135, and they had one for FS2002, but when I went to download it I couldnt, then they took the link off the site.  >:(  They said they were updating it for FS9, but that was like 3 month ago.

Tacit, I just took a fast look at your suggested site. Looks like something I could lose myself in for a while.  l'm really into vintage.....Thanks for the lead, I owe you one If I come across an RC-135, you'll be the first one to know!

Thanks. I imagine they will be putting their updated one back up soon. Im not much into heavies, but the 135 has sentimental value to me.

Here she is at Gatwick, just like the one I flew to Spain on back in the 70s.

I think that both Drumliner & Clipper were using older versions of these aircraft updated by 3rd parties & not fully compatible with FS9. The new ones posted on Dave's site have been completely updated by the original author for FS9 only. Everything works as advertised.

Hagar, I just downloaded 4c. It's a vast improvement over the older version. I am getting pops and crackle from the "comet sounds" file though. What's your advice
