Does anyone know why I keep getting random electrical failures when I havnt even turned this option on? Just as im about to take off or whilst im sitting waiting for clearence the lights go out and I have to select the plane again from the aircraft selection menu.
Its incredibly annoying but it tends to happen to the default King Air and Learjet? Any help would be much appreciated as I cant really fly these planes anymore.

I occasionally have this problem on my motor bike in the cold weather.
The battery goes flat and I press my "Start button" for ages...and nuffin' 'appens... :'(...!
...It's so annoying...!

Wether the same problem occurs in aeroplanes, I don't know, but I'd try a jump start from a nearby "Follow me" car... ;)... ;D...!

Paul...bein' daft again...!
LOL...!

I'm sure someone will come up with a "sensible" answer... ;)...!

Do you have your generators switched on? If not the batteries go flat pretty quick and this will turn all the avionics off.

Yup, this problem plagued me a while back.  I'd go into the failures screen and it'd be checked and I'd be like "Patrick I'm gonna be beat the **** outta you", and only after would I figure out he hadn't done it.  Oh well.  Anyway...

To fix it, hit "reset failures", then reload the aircraft, or try turning the master back on (in the jets, you need to use the shortcut "shift+m")

To solve.... sorry, I really don't remember.  Just try hitting "shift+m" whenever it happens and see if that solves it.  I think this problem may have fixed itself on my comp. Also, when you first the flight, go into failures and make sure nothing is checked.  Finally, search for my thread that I put up a loong time ago-I just may have posted the solution in there ;)

The chance is you've saved a default flight using a plane which had an alternator switch (or switches more like) that you turned off before saving the flight. You've then switched to another aircraft or panel that doesn't have an alternator switch which is very common. The system has 'preserved' the exact state that the default flight was saved in.

There are several ways to deal with the problem - resave the default flight with alternator switch on, change to a different plane or change to a different panel that has a switch, or add a switch to the panel you're using using CfgEdit.

BTW I also had the problem with Rick Piper's Vanguard and I'm surprised nobody else seems to have noticed that in that case it was caused by a spelling error in the cfg file in relation the alternator charging rate - which meant that the alternator was not charging and the electrical system ALWAYS failed after about 10 minutes.
