i'm having trouble figuring this instrument out.

how do i change the heading, and, more importantly, how do i know which heading to change it to?

this is the instrument that should help me with the glide path right?

anyone?

VS in hundreds of feet per minute I suppose.

Careful-just feet per minute (FPM) not hundreds of feet per minute.  That means when you put "100" into the AP itd mean 10,000 FPM!

I'm a mite bit confused as well as to exactly which instrument we're refering to here...

Are you talking about the VOR with the glide slope needle  to fly a ILS  ???Glide path you do not change heading only pitch to fly a glide path 8)

Sounds like a confusion with the Horizontal Situation Indicator to me.

Here is a list of instraments, which one are you referring?

Horizonal Situation Indicator (HSI)
Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI)
Altimeter
Autopilot Vertical Speed Selector (and or the bug on the VSI)
Turn and Bank Indicator

I'm very sorry everyone...
I am indeed referring to the Horizontal Situation Indicator...I think??

I'm trying to land with the asistance of this instrument, the one with the headings indicated...

If I follow it, and the "cross" is right in the middle of the gauge, I'm still off course, almost like I'm following the wrong headings?

While you are here....

What exactly is Slew Mode??

Can someone tell me how to use autopilot?  I mean I wish to enter a certain height that I would like it to maintain?

Thanks again.

The one with the cross would be the glideslope like dyfly said, I think.
